Senior Software Engineer, Platform
You will ship features, fix bugs, and drive technical direction across Baponi's execution platform. Rust backend, React frontend, Kubernetes infrastructure. You have years of serious engineering behind you and now use AI tools to move faster than ever.
What we are looking for
- Strong software engineer first, AI-augmented second. You were shipping production systems before AI coding tools existed. You have deep fundamentals: systems design, debugging, performance, and the judgment to know when AI-generated code is wrong.
- Rust in production. You have built and maintained Rust services that handle real traffic. You understand ownership, async runtimes, and how to write code that is both safe and fast.
- Full-stack capable. Your strength is backend and infrastructure, but you can move through a React/TypeScript frontend when the feature requires it.
- AI agent domain experience. You have built, integrated, or operated AI agents that execute code in sandboxed environments. You understand the product space firsthand, not just theoretically.
- Product instinct. You do not wait for a spec. You see what customers need, propose solutions, and ship them. You think about the product as a whole, not just your assigned tasks.
Strong signals
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent depth in systems fundamentals.
- You have worked at a high-caliber engineering organization (FAANG, infrastructure startup, or equivalent).
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and cloud-native deployment (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
- You are a proficient Claude Code or Cursor user and have a clear opinion on how AI tools should fit into an engineering workflow.
- You have contributed to open-source projects.
What you will do
- Ship features end-to-end. From API design to database migration to frontend UI to Helm chart update. You own the full delivery, not a slice of it.
- Improve the platform. Identify bottlenecks, fix reliability issues, and raise the bar on code quality. You have the autonomy to prioritize what matters.
- Drive technical direction. You bring your own ideas based on deep understanding of the domain. You do not need to be told what to build next.
